Minneapolis, MN -- (Sports Network) - Charde Houston scored a game-high 21 points off the bench to lead the Minnesota Lynx over Detroit, 84-70, in their season opener.

Rookies Candice Wiggins and Nicky Anosike added 15 and 11 points, respectively, while Seimone Augustus finished with 14 for Minnesota. The Lynx shot 48.5 percent as a team, and committed only 12 turnovers to Detroit's 23.

Katie Smith finished with 17 points and five assists for the Shock, who began their campaign with an 85-66 win over Houston on Saturday. Plenette Pierson contributed 15 points and Cheryl Ford added 11 and nine rebounds for Detroit.
