The crash happened Friday night on Jefferson Avenue, where Tracy Savage was struck while carrying the money in a briefcase and was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital on a stretcher.

Mary and Tracy Savage told Channel 4 Action News reporter Sheldon Ingram that they left the club and walked toward a carport where their vehicle was parked. At that time, the truck jumped the sidewalk and hit Tracy Savage, knocking her to the ground.

"Picked up and shoved forward, and next thing I know, I'm on my back under the carport," Tracy Savage said. "I screamed and told my mom to call police."

While Tracy lay on the ground, Mary said she stood by in shock as two women stepped out of the truck, which was driven by a man.

"It was deliberate. They deliberately meant to hit one of us," Mary Savage said.

"The case was a couple of feet away from me," Tracy Savage said. "They grabbed it and ran to the truck."

The Savages run bingo games weekly for the Jessop Club. City police believe the robbers have been watching them for a while.

"We feel that they at least had some knowledge of when bingo lets out (and) who's leaving with the money," Washington police Detective Dan Stanek said.

"It's a shame that someone's got to steal money that way, to run them over with a pickup," said the brother of the woman who went to the hospital. "And we have a description of the pickup. It's a white Ford with a toolbox in the back."

Only vague descriptions of the robbers are available.

Tracy Savage said she's incredibly sore and stiff, but glad that the truck hit her instead of her mother, who weighs 98 pounds and takes medication for brittle bones.

"If it knocked her 10 feet, think how far it could have thrown me, and I could have been killed," Mary Savage said.
