I-79 Construction Near Neville Island Causing Confusion

Construction confusion is causing big problems on Interstate 79 near Neville Island.

Last year, a driver got confused and slammed into a huge construction arrow. This year, crews are working on the other side of the interstate near Neville Island.

WTAE Channel 4 Action News' Sky 4 helicopter flew over I-79 Tuesday morning, just past the Parkway North spilt. Despite all the signs, cars were swerving to get into the left lane of the highway. But drivers don’t have to do that, because both lanes go through the construction.

Drivers only have to be in the right lane if they're getting off the interstate at Mount Nebo, Glenfield or Route 65.

In 2006, 20 people were killed in work-zone related accidents in Pennsylvania.
