Route 28 Lane Closure Shortens

UPDATED: 4:31 pm EDT May 19, 2008

Construction continues on Route 28, but PennDOT is lifting its around-the-clock northbound lane closure from Pittsburgh Mills to the Creighton interchange.

Only off-peak lane closures will now occur in that two-mile stretch of Route 28.

The ongoing construction project on Route 28 in O'Hara, Harmar, Springdale, Frazier and East Deer townships includes rehabilitation of bridges, concrete patching and resurfacing, and widening to create a third northbound lane between the Harmarville interchange and Pittsburgh Mills.

Construction is scheduled to continue until late fall. There is a traffic camera at www.sr28a44project.com.
