Route 136 Bridge Over Turnpike To Be Demolished, Replaced

The bridge that carries Route 136 over the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Arona, Westmoreland County, will be demolished and replaced.

The bridge closed Monday and is scheduled to reopen for Labor Day.

The new two-lane bridge is designed to accommodate the widening of the turnpike to six lanes between Irwin and New Stanton.
