Davenport Withdraws From Roland Garros

POSTED: 2:31 pm EDT May 20, 2008

(Sports Network) - Three-time Grand Slam champion Lindsay Davenport pulled out of the 2008 French Open on Tuesday, citing personal reasons.

The 31-year-old former world No. 1 star has won every major event, with the exception of the French Open, where she reached the semifinals back in 1998 to mark her best-ever showing in Paris.

The currently 26th-ranked Davenport returned to the WTA Tour last September after taking an 11-month hiatus to start a family.

Roland Garros 2008 will commence Sunday.
