2009 PITTSBURGH -- Steelers linebacker James Harrison has been named AFC defensive player of the month.Harrison tallied seven sacks, 25 tackles, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in four games in October, all victories for the Steelers.Most recently, Harrison sacked quarterback Brett Favre twice and had seven tackles in the Steelers' 27-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.Harrison is second in the NFL with 8 sacks, trailing only Denver Broncos linebacker Elvis Dumervil (10).The six-year linebacker has collected 41 tackles, six assists and four forced fumbles through seven games this season.His 35 solo tackles are tops on the Steelers defense.Harrison previously picked up a player of the month award in November 2007 and also earned NFL defensive player of the year honors last season.
