More Steel Arrives At PNC Park

Stadium Will Visibly Take Shape

More steel is here, and the new PNC Park will soon start looking like a ballpark.

Pirates owner Kevin McClatchy was on hand Sunday as about 300 tons of steel arrived by river at the park.

The new steel will be used for the rotunda, WTAE-TV's Bob Mayo reports.

Construction is on schedule to be finished in time for the first pitch of the 2001 season. McClatchey

Observers following the progress of the stadium will now notice the park more visibly taking shape.

One-hundred more tons are expected to arrive Monday. The $228 million park will seat 38,000.
