WTAE Channel 4 Action News viewers get the Weather Watch 4 forecast from meteorologist Jerry Martz on weekends.

Born in Greensburg and a graduate of Gateway High School, Jerry arrived at WTAE Channel 4 in March 1997. He holds a bachelor's of science degree in meteorology and graduated from Penn State University in 1991.

In addition to providing weather reports on Pittsburgh and its suburbs, Jerry also enjoys meeting people and offering his services as a public speaker on weather-related issues. He also teaches introductory meteorology at Penn State-New Kensington.

His hobbies include golfing, skiing, canoeing and fishing and enjoys many of these activities with his wife, Melane, and daughters, Jessica, Jenna, Jillian and his son Mitchell. The Martz family has two dogs, Madison and Murphy, who were adopted from a local shelter.

When he gets the time to relax, you might find Jerry reading books by Stephen King and Tom Clancy or anything Civil War related, or watching his favorite movies, "Caddyshack" and "Christmas Vacation."
