DTV Events Scheduled For Western Pa.

PITTSBURGH -- The Federal Communications Commission has scheduled several events around western Pennsylvania to inform viewers about digital television changes.

With days to go before the final June 12 digital television transition, representatives from the FCC are holding DTV Clinics to brief consumers on the status of the transition to digital television, assist them with online applications for converter box coupons, and demonstrate how to hook up and operate converter boxes. Consumers having trouble setting up their converter boxes are welcome to bring their boxes to these events.

DTV Mobile Clinic, Thursday June 11, 2009 from 11 am to 4 pm, KMART, 1775 SOUTH BRADDOCK, PITTSBURGH, PA

DTV Mobile Clinic, Friday June 12, 2009 from 11 am to 3 pm, KMART, 100 TARENTUM RD, NEW KENSINGTON, PA

The FCC Call Center (1-888-CALL-FCC) will be operating 24 hours a day beginning tonight and will continue through Monday June 15. This end time for 24 hour service is subject to change based on volume of calls and other needs during the DTV transition.

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES HAS OPENED DTV WALK-IN CENTERS AT ITS Computer Works of South Side, 2600 EAST CARSON STREET AND the Northside Common Ministries Food Pantry AT 1601 BRIGHTON ROAD. HOURS ARE MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and SUNDAY Noon to 8 p.m. through June 19.
