WTAE-TV Channel 4's Winterfest At Seven Springs

Annual Winter Event Returns In 2010

WTAE Channel 4's annual Winterfest at Seven Springs Mountain Resort takes place again in 2010. The dates are February 13-21.

This annual event showcases all types of snow and slope activities to help guests enjoy the winter temperatures and deep snow. Snow tubing, on-snow races, silly challenges and other fun activities are designed to thrill skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities.

Those looking for a cure to cabin fever will enjoy a craft and artisan show on the weekends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., located in the resort’s Festival Hall. The Winter Activity Center is the place for kids from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily for scavenger hunts, face painting, board games, coloring contests and other free activities.

One of the most popular events, the Celebrity Olympics, pits WTAE Channel 4 Action News members and current and former Pittsburgh Steelers against each other in a heated competition for the coveted Winterfest gold medal. Some of Pittsburgh’s most popular news personalities compete in an Olympic-like competition featuring challenges such as a tug-o-war competition, human bowling, and snowshoe race. Held in the Wagner Beginners Bowl at 3 p.m., Sat., Feb. 13, this event guarantee loads of fun and laughter.

Event Registration is daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Ski Lodge. A $10 one-time registration fee includes a t-shirt and entry into all racing events. Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded, respectively, to first, second, and third places. Participants must be registered 30 minutes prior to an event. Awards will be held at 4 p.m. daily in the Foggy Goggle.
