The stage is set for the NCAA Women's East Regional games at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh beginning Saturday. 032201cash Video Andrew Stockey Talks With Connecticut's Swin Cash Connecticut is the No. 1 seed in the East Region after capturing its eighth straight (10th overall) Big East Championship with a win over top-ranked Notre Dame. The Huskies, led by McKeesport, Pa., native Swin Cash, are now 30-2 overall, marking seven out of eight seasons that they have reached 30 wins. UConn will face No. 4 North Carolina State (22-10) in the semifinals of the East Region at 2:07 p.m. Saturday while No. 10 Missouri (23-9) and No. 3 Louisiana Tech (30-4) will face off at 11:37 a.m. in the other semifinal matchup. The winners play each other in the East final for the right to advance to the women's Final Four in St. Louis on March 30 and April 1. Although this will be the first trip to Pittsburgh for a tournament game for UConn, the Huskies are a perfect 4-0 when a tourney game is in Pennsylvania. All of Connecticut's games in the state have been in Philadelphia, with two wins coming in the First Union Center during last season's national title run and the other half coming at The Palestra against NC State and Clemson during the 1991 tournament. Personally, Cash enjoys playing in her home state. Her teams are 7-0 when playing in Pennsylvania. Cash averaged 30.4 points, 16.9 rebounds and 5.8 blocks per game at McKeesport High School. She recorded a school-record 21 blocks in one game as a junior. She was named the Gatorade Pennsylvania Player of the Year her senior season.
