After 35 years in the broadcast booth, Myron Cope's newest venture is a beer can.

"My teacher she said to me, 'What do you want to be when you grow up?' I said, 'To have my mug on a beer can," said the former Steelers broadcaster.

Thursday, Latrobe Brewing unveiled its newest commemorative can series, featuring the beloved voice of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"Ninety-nine percent of the people that I come in contact with ask what Myron Cope is really like," said Steelers radio announcer Tunch Ilkin.

There will be four cans highlighting Cope over four decades.

The two cans released Thursday depict the 70s and 80s.

Two more cans will be revealed when the team salutes Cope next month.

"We will be recognizing the storied career of Myron at our Oct. 31 Monday night game against the Baltimore birdies," said Steelers' Director of Marketing Tony Quatrini.

"It's been so much fun. And this reminds me of great moments that I've enjoyed -- so how are you going to beat it?" asked Cope.

Cope said he plans to watch this year's season on the sidelines at home, and to write a book.
