Fox drove in Augie Ojeda, who led off the inning with a base hit off losing pitcher Brian Meadows. Shannon Stewart ended 2-for-2 with a homer and two RBI and Juan Castro also had two hits and two RBI for the Twins, who were outhit 12-11 by the Pirates. Minnesota starting pitcher Joe Mays was charged with four runs -- three earned -- in four innings of work. He scattered seven hits and struck out one. Chris Duffy had two hits and two RBI for Pittsburgh. Pirates starter David Williams surrendered four runs on seven hits in five innings. He struck out one and walked two.
