With a record of 24-8, Pitt is the No. 3 seed in the West Region. The Panthers will play Oakland in a first-round game in Milwaukee at 2:45 p.m. Friday.

Oakland earned an automatic bid after winning the Summit League championship. The Grizzlies (26-8) are in the NCAA field for the second time. They won a play-in game in 2005.

Coach Greg Kampe and center Keith Benson said Oakland's preseason goal was to win two NCAA tournament games this year. The 6-foot-11 Benson averages a double-double -- 17 points, 10 rebounds -- and three-plus blocks a game.
