Troy Polamalu Does PSA With Obama, Hangs Out At White HouseSteelers Star Promotes 'NFL Play 60,' Says President Is Cool GuyPOSTED: 10:12 am EST November 19,
2009 PITTSBURGH -- President Barack Obama will appear with Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu in a public service announcement that's scheduled to air during the NFL's Thanksgiving Day games."It wasn't intimidating at all. He's just like a cool guy who you could sit down at a barbecue with," Polamalu said Thursday. The 90-second spot shows Obama, Polamalu, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware playing touch football with children on the White House lawn."It was really cool. I even got a free weekend at the White House," Polamalu said. The spot promotes the NFL's Play 60 campaign, which encourages physical activity to combat childhood obesity, and the president's community service initiative, United We Serve.A shorter version will air during NFL games throughout the season. This wasn't Polamalu's first meeting with the president. He and the rest of the Steelers -- famously minus James Harrison -- visited the White House after winning Super Bowl XLIII.
