The University of Pittsburgh men's basketball team held its annual Blue-Gold Scrimmage on Tuesday night, giving fans their first taste of this year's new-look Panthers squad.

Junior guard Brad Wanamaker had 19 points -- two coming on a sweet steal and a dunk -- as he led the Blue team over the Gold team 56-53 at the Petersen Events Center.

Redshirt freshman guard Travon Woodall also played well, making a steal and setting up freshman Talib Zanna for a crowd-pleasing fast-break basket.

Sophomore guard Ashton Gibbs hit a three-pointer off a feed from his fellow sophomore, Nasir Robinson, and finished with 17. Gibbs had a great summer, helping the U.S. team win gold at the under-19 world championships in Aucklund, New Zealand.

Senior guard Chase Adams led all scorers with 21 points. He's a transfer from Centenary.

The Panthers will play a preseason game against Slippery Rock on Sunday afternoon at home.

Coach Jamie Dixon has a roster that looks dramatically different from last year, when Pitt lost a heart-breaker to Villanova in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

Most of the starters are gone, including the top three scorers, Sam Young, DeJuan Blair and Levance Fields.

The only returning starter -- senior guard Jermaine Dixon -- continues to recover from off-season surgery on a broken foot and did not play in the Blue-Gold Scrimmage.
