Buffalo Inks F Ellis To One-Year Deal

(Sports Network) - The Buffalo Sabres signed unrestricted free agent forward Matt Ellis to a one-year contract on Thursday.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound left winger set career highs in goals (7), assists (5), and points (12) in 45 games with the Sabres last season.

Ellis has 10 goals and 10 assists in 115 career NHL games with Buffalo, Los Angeles, and Detroit. The 27-year-old was claimed off waivers by the Sabres from the Kings on October 1, 2008.
