2008 PITTSBURGH -- Fines continue piling up for the Steelers with wide receiver Nate Washington the latest member of the team taking a hit to the wallet.Washington has been fined $7,500 for taunting following a catch he made during a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.Washington was penalized on the play and said he was just showing the ball after Jacksonville players claimed he didn't make the catch.Washington is the latest in a string of Steelers to be fined in recent weeks.Linebacker James Harrison was fined $20,000 for criticizing a call made by officials earlier this season.Safety Ryan Clark and wide receiver Hines Ward have also been fined for hits they made in games this season.Ward has been fined twice, but was not penalized by officials either time.Head coach Mike Tomlin said he understands the league trying to protect players, but sides with Ward."I join him in being bewildered on the second one. That's how this guy's played football in this league for a long time now. Neither one of those instances were penalties," said Tomlin.Steelers owner and chairman Dan Rooney has sent a letter to the league protesting the first fine against Ward.
