Steelers QB Batch Leaves With Injury

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch left the team's 16-10 preseason win over Philadelphia on Friday with a broken right collarbone.

Batch, the entrenched backup to starter Ben Roethlisberger, was injured on a series in the second quarter. Batch went off left tackle for a six-yard run before being stopped by the Eagles' Sean Considine.

He handed off to Gary Russell on the ensuing play but then left the game in favor of Dennis Dixon.

Batch completed one pass for three yards before leaving. The veteran of 10 NFL seasons saw action in seven games during the 2007 campaign, including one start, completing 17-of-36 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns, while recording three interceptions.
