Penguins Re-Sign Forward Taffe

(Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Penguins agreed to terms on a one-year contract with forward Jeff Taffe.

Taffe, 27, played 45 games with the Penguins during the 2007-2008 season, scoring five goals and 12 points.

The former first round draft pick by St. Louis has played in 145 games in parts of five seasons for the Coyotes, Rangers, and Penguins. Overall he has scored 20 goals and 40 points with a career high of 18 points for Phoenix in 2003-2004.
