The Tampa Bay Lightning signed former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Ryan Malone to a seven-year, $35.1 million deal on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Lightning also signed left wing Gary Roberts to a one-year contract.

Malone and Roberts became free agents after the Pens' season ended. On Saturday, Pittsburgh traded both players' negotiating rights to Tampa.

In return, the Penguins are to receive a third-round pick in next year's draft.
