HOUSTON -- A nanny who worked for Roger Clemens had only good things to say Wednesday about the man she said employed her for 13 years, Houston television station KPRC reported."Mr. Clemens is a good guy. I don't know what's going on," said the woman, who declined to be identified. "He's a wonderful man. His family and, you know, I cannot believe that he is going through all of this stuff."Clemens' former trainer, Brian McNamee, told a congressional committee he saw the nanny at a party in Miami 10 years ago.
"(She was) chasing after a young child and she was wearing a peach bikini with green in it with board shorts," McNamee said. The woman said she cared for Clemens' children at a party at Jose Canseco's Miami home in June 1998, where McNamee claimed he first talked with Clemens about steroids. The former nanny said she was at the party, but Clemens was not."No, he wasn't," the woman said. "He wasn't. I was there with his little ones and he wasn't and that's what I told. I told the truth. If I have to swear on the Bible or whatever, he wasn't in there."Canseco, his ex-wife and others have said Clemens was not at the lunch.Congressional investigators questioned McNamee's memory and credibility. The former nanny said there is nothing to question about Clemens."He's a good man," she said.Congressional investigators accused Clemens of tampering with a witness, the former nanny. The woman declined to comment on how often she has contact with the Clemens family.
