During an interview with Mike Wallace of "60 Minutes," Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens says his former trainer injected him only with legal drugs.

In his first interview since being named in last month's Mitchell Report, Clemens told Wallace that his former trainer, Brian McNamee, injected him only with lidocaine and B-12.

"It’s for my joints, and B-12 I still take today," Clemens told Wallace.

In the Mitchell Report, produced by former Sen. George Mitchell, McNamee said he injected the seven-time Cy Young winner with steroids and human growth hormone that are banned by Major League Baseball. McNamee said he injected Clemens with steroids in 1998 when he played for Toronto and then gave him steroids and HGH in 2000 and 2001 while he was with the Yankees.

McNamee also accused New York pitcher Andy Pettitte of using HGH. Pettitte later admitted that he used HGH twice while recovering from an injury.

McNamee's lawyers told The New York Times they will consider filing a lawsuit against Clemens if he calls the trainer a liar during the "60 Minutes" interview, which will air Sunday.

"We're not going to sue him if he doesn't do it. But if he does it, we're going to sue him," Richard D. Emery, a New York-based attorney, told The Times.

Prior to speaking with Wallace, Clemens had issued previous denials through recordings and statements.

"Let me be clear, the answer is no. I did not use steroids or human growth hormone, and I've never done so," Clemens said in a video on his Web site. "I did not provide Brian McNamee with any drugs to inject into my body. Brian McNamee did not inject steroids or human growth hormones into my body."

The Yankees, who have already signed Pettitte to a one-year deal, told The New York Daily News on Thursday that the team will not re-sign Clemens.
