2006 PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers' linebacker Joey Porter was fined $10,000 by the NFL on Thursday for a gay slur he made towards Cleveland Browns' tight end Kellen Winslow after the game on Thursday. In a post-game interview, Porter referred to Winslow with a derogatory word used to describe homosexuals.On Tuesday, Porter apologized, saying he didn't intend to offend anyone but Winslow."I guess, how we used that word freely, me using it growing up, I didn't think anything of it," Porter said on Tuesday. "I apologize to anyone I offended. I didn't mean to offend nobody but Kellen Winslow."This was Porter's second fine of the season. During a game against the Atlanta Falcons in October, Porter was fined $15,000 for comments he made to an official.There is no word on whether Porter will appeal the fine.
