Former IBF world lightweight boxing champion Paul Spadafora is moving up in weight class and making a comeback.

"The Pittsburgh Kid," on parole after shooting his then-fiancee in 2003, will be a part of the Erie Boxing Classic at the Avalon hotel on Nov. 22.

He'll fight a yet-to-be-determined opponent in the junior welterweight division. It will be the 31-year-old Spadafora's first bout in more than two years.

Spadafora pleaded guilty to an assault charge in connection with the shooting of Nadine Russo in McKees Rocks. He was released in April after spending seven months in state prison and six months in a boot camp.

The undefeated Spadafora relinquished his lightweight belt in June 2003, saying he wanted to fight at a heavier weight. His career record is 38-0-1 with 15 knockouts.
