Helpful Tips:
Getting Kids to Eat Healthy

- Teach kids the difference between healthy snacks and treat. Save treats for a special occasion.

- Kids should have something to eat every four hours. Plan meals and snacks accordingly.

- Give a snack that has a combination of protein and carbs to keep them feeling fuller longer, e.g. low-fat cheese stick and a few whole what crackers.

- Don't overfeed kids or you'll ruin their appetites for the next meal.

- Use snack time as an opportunity to fulfill the daily requirements from the government's MyPyramid food guidelines.
