WTAE TV Race for the Cure Sponsors:

Mother's Day, May 11, 2008
Before the first race was ever held, Race volunteers approached WTAE-TV to be involved in launching this new initiative. From the outset, the station knew this was a special group who could have an impact on the lives of our viewers, so we have wholeheartedly embraced the cause for the past 16 years. We felt strongly that adding the station's voice in support of the campaign would assure a more rapid growth and success. WTAE-TV is extremely proud of the role we've played in helping to raise millions of dollars for research, free mammograms and breast cancer education for area residents.

Michelle Wright concurs. "Every year we see more and more pink shirts, proving we are getting the word out, and that we're having an impact on early detection and intervention. I'm looking forward to the day when we can all sleep in on Mother's Day and have breakfast in bed. Until then, WTAE-TV will be there, helping to Race for the Cure.
