Awards And Recognition: At 1999's MTV Europe Awards, Spears took home four trophies for best female artist, best pop artist, breakthrough artist and best song for "... Baby One More Time." Spears also won four Billboard awards in 1999 for female artist of the year, new artist of the year, female album artist of the year and female Hot 100 singles artist of the year.

Big Break: Spears started her entertainment career at an early age, costarring on Broadway in "Ruthless" before joining the cast of Disney's "Mickey Mouse Club" in 1993 at age 11. She then began working on a singing career, eventually traveling to Sweden to work with producer Max Martin, whose previous clients included the Backstreet Boys and Ace of Base. Three months before the release of her album, Spears did a promotional tour in malls across America. "... Baby One More Time" debuted at No. 1 on the charts.
