Mad River Glen is Vermont's throwback ski area. The resort is located in Waitsfield, close to the much larger and more stylish Sugarbush. Mad River Glen offers many unique features, such as the nation's last surviving single chairlift. The resort's skier-owners and management strive to enhance the Mad River Glen experience rather than change or overhaul it, even though the area has undergone sizable capital improvements.
