Election Day Brings Few Voters To Polls

Low Voter Turnout Reported Around Region

A very low voter turnout was reported after Election Day Tuesday in the Pittsburgh area.

According to WTAE Channel 4's news exchange partners at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, only about 23 percent of eligible voters turned out in Allegheny County.

Westmoreland County was estimated at about 18-20 percent voter turnout and in Butler County, voter turnout was estimated at 26 percent.

There was only about a 24 percent turnout in Beaver County and 18 percent estimated in Washington County.

Voters throughout Pennsylvania cast their ballots on Tuesday. The Pittsburgh mayoral race, won by incumbent Luke Ravenstahl, was the biggest race at the local level.
