Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden made a campaign stop in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, as he tours his home state on Thursday.

In his speech at Greensburg Salem High School Biden spoke about the current economic crisis and presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama's plan for middle-class families.

He said Americans are looking to Obama to devise an economic bailout plan. He said he doesn't want to see a $700 billion check written out with taxpayer dollars.

Biden was introduced by Pittsburgh Steelers chairman Dan Rooney, who has supported Biden's running mate from the beginning.

"Barack Obama believes what we believe, that you can work hard and maintain your dignity, your concern for others. He showed that when he picked Joe Biden," Rooney said.

Biden said he's tired of hearing about John McCain's promises as, Biden said, President George W. Bush made the same ones.

"I kind of love it how Republican candidates for president are always going change the Republican party. I wish one of them luck along the way here. He says he's going to change the way Washington works. Folks, we've seen this movie before and we all know from our experience that the sequel is always worse than the original," Biden said.

WTAE's Jennifer Miele reported that Biden surprised some in the crowd of 400 when he revealed a personal connection to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his speech, Biden told the story of the 1972 car accident that killed his wife and daughter and injured his two sons. Biden explained how Rocky Bleier paid a Christmas visit his sons in the hospital.

"They each had separately a football on their bed, and uh, excuse, me anyway, guys where did you get the ball? They said Daddy, Rocky Bleier gave it to us," Biden said.
