The Democratic National Convention is under way in Denver, and western Pennsylvania is represented well.

Sen. Bob Casey -- an early backer of the party's presidential nominee, Sen. Barack Obama -- will give a speech Tuesday night at the Pepsi Center.

During Monday's Pennsylvania delegate meeting, Casey urged the commonwealth's Democrats to work hard for the Obama-Joe Biden ticket.

Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell and Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato -- former supporters of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton -- were among those who joined in the Pennsylvania delegate meeting.

Pennsylvania State Auditor General Jack Wagner, who backed Obama in the primary, is also at the DNC.

Reps. John Murtha and Jason Altmire are among the superdelegates at the convention. Murtha was an early Clinton backer, while Altmire stayed neutral until the race between Clinton and Obama was decided.
