A new, exclusive WTAE-TV Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Franklin and Marshall poll shows Sen. Hillary Clinton is still leading Sen. Barack Obama in Pennsylvania, but her lead is shrinking.

Out of likely Democratic voters, 46 percent said they plan to vote for Clinton and 40 percent said they would vote for Obama.

In March, Clinton led Obama 51 percent to 35 percent.

The poll breaks down demographics. More women support Clinton, giving her a 10 percent lead in that category, but she did lose some female support following the March poll. She also does well among voters who are older, have less formal education and are Catholic.

The poll shows that Obama leads among younger voters, those will a college degree, and non-whites.

There are an estimated 300,000 newly registered Democrats in the state, a mixture of first-time voters and those switching parties.

The poll shows 65 percent of those new voters plan to vote for Obama.

According to the numbers, the western part of the state favors Clinton and the eastern part of the state, especially Philadelphia, favoring Sen. Obama.

Collectively, 43 percent of Democratic voters said the No. 1 issue was the economy, with the Iraq war and health care following.
