NEW YORK -- Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been named one of the Top 10 athletes in the world, according to the Wall Street Journal.Sid the Kid is the only hockey player on the list, coming in at No. 6.Survey: Who Do You Vote For?
Crosby, 20, who led the Pens to the Stanley Cup finals this year, was tied for the most points out of any player in the playoffs with 27.The Journal noted that he combines stamina, power and the coordination to shoot the puck while getting clobbered.Decathlete Roman Sebrle took the No. 1 spot and was followed by NBA star Lebron James, boxer Floyd Mayweather, NFL running back LaDanian Tomlinson and tennis star Roger Federer.Liu Xiang, a 110-meter hurdler, came in at No. 7, followed by 400-meter sprinter Jeremy Wariner, soccer star Ronaldo de Assis Moreira and baseball star Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees.Each athlete was rated on six criteria: speed, vision and reflex, stamina and recovery, coordination and flexibility, power, strength and size, and success and competitiveness.
