Stanley Cup Tix, Gear Hot Items In Pittsburgh

It's Pens Vs. Red Wings For Hockey's Championship Trophy

UPDATED: 11:42 am EDT May 30, 2008

After 16 years, the Penguins have a chance to drink from Lord Stanley's Cup -- but to do it, they must beat the best team in hockey, the Detroit Red Wings.

The first four games of the seven-game Stanley Cup Finals -- including Games 3 and 4 in Pittsburgh -- sold out quickly.

But for those of you who didn’t get a chance to snag your tickets yet, there are other options.

StubHub.com, which offers a variety of tickets in different sections for numerous prices, sent a representative to Pittsburgh for the series.

On StubHub, tickets are currently ranging from $583 to $1,100.

StubHub officials said the representative has a room at the Marriot Hotel, which is across from the Mellon Arena, where ticket purchasers can go to pick up the tickets they ordered online.

"If you do it late enough where you cant use a mail transaction, they'll be at the site of the venue and you can pick your tickets up," a StubHub official said.

Ineedtwo.com has seats available up high in Section E with a limited view for $330 a piece.

If money is no object, $2,129 will get you a seat center ice in the Igloo Club.

But that's pricey, considering the face value on tickets range from $150 to $350.

The sales manager at IneedTwo.com has these tips:

Pick a price within your budget. If you see them online, buy them. Don't wait. The prices could go up or tickets could sell out.

If you can't find any in that budget range, wait until game day. Brokers typically drop their prices considerably in the hours before faceoff or they sell them to street vendors at 25 to 50 percent less than the going rate.

But that can be risky, because some street vendors might try to rip you off. And again, you are taking the chance tickets will still be available.

The last piece of advice is to consider traveling to Detroit, where tickets to the games at Joe Louis Arena are going for far less.
