Penguins Bring Back Guerin

Pittsburgh, PA -- (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Penguins agreed to terms on a one-year contract with unrestricted free agent forward Bill Guerin on Monday.Guerin came to the Pens from the New York Islanders in a trade-deadline deal on March 4, and picked up 12 points in 17 regular-season games, adding seven goals and 15 points in 24 playoff contests for the Stanley Cup champions. "We are excited to agree to terms with Billy on this one-year deal," said Penguins general manager Ray Shero. "He made a tremendous impact on this team with his scoring ability, physical play and outstanding leadership, and was a key factor in our drive to the Cup." Over a 17-year career with New Jersey, Edmonton, Boston, Dallas, San Jose, St. Louis, the Islanders and Pittsburgh, the 38-year-old native of the Boston area has compiled 408 goals and 811 points in 1,185 games. A former first-round pick of the Devils back in 1989, Guerin also won a title with New Jersey in 1995.
