Pittsburgh, PA -- (Sports Network) - Thousands of fans from the entire western Pennsylvania region lined up in downtown Pittsburgh to help the Penguins celebrate their Stanley Cup championship with a parade on Monday.Team owner Mario Lemieux led the rally in a white convertable, while players and announcers coverged at a final destination, where several speeches were given to thank the fans and pump up the crowd. The Penguins captured their third championship in franchise history by topping the Red Wings at Detroit in Game 7 on Friday, making it the first title for superstar duo of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Pittsburgh won it all for the first time since Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr helped capture back-to-back titles in 1991 and 1992. The Penguins became only the third team to ever win Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals on the road, and it came after the home team had won the first six games of the series.
