Flyers Acquire D Eminger From Washington

POSTED: 11:13 pm EDT June 20, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers acquired defenseman Steve Eminger from the Washington Capitals on Friday during the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

The Capitals got Philadelphia's first-round pick (29th overall) and used it to select defenseman John Carlson. In addition, Washington sent a pick in the third round, which will take place on Saturday, to Philadelphia.

Eminger has spent five season in the NHL, all with Washington, and has posted six goals and 37 assists in 212 games. He only appeared in 20 games last season and was a healthy scratch for many of the contests.
