UPDATED: 8:16 pm EST February 29, 2008

All-Pro Alan Faneca has signed with the New York Jets, less than 24 hours after becoming a free agent.

According to ESPN.com, the former Pittsburgh Steelers guard agreed to a four-year, $32 million deal that includes roughly $23 million in guarantees. The deal is expected to be finalized over the weekend.

Faneca, 31, spent eight seasons with the Steelers and has gone to the Pro Bowl seven times.

Faneca's departure from the team had been expected for almost a year, ever since he skipped voluntary offseason workouts in May and said he wasn't happy with his contract situation.
