Lions Sign CB Bodden To Extension

POSTED: 3:35 am EDT July 27, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Detroit Lions came to terms on a four- year contract extension through the 2013 season with cornerback Leigh Bodden Friday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Detroit Free-Press reported the deal will pay Bodden up to $27 million over the next four seasons, including a $2 million signing bonus.

Bodden was acquired by the Lions from Cleveland in February along with a third-round pick in exchange for defensive tackle Shaun Rogers. The 6-foot-1, 192-pound defensive back picked off a career-high six passes for the Browns last season, his fifth in the league.

The Duquesne product, an undrafted free agent out of college, has 12 career interceptions in 59 games, all with the Browns.
