Report: Lions Sign CB Bodden To Extension

POSTED: 2:08 pm EDT July 25, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Detroit Lions have reportedly come to terms on a four-year contract extension with cornerback Leigh Bodden.

The Detroit Free-Press reported Friday on the deal, which will pay Bodden up to $27 million over the next four seasons, including a $2 million signing bonus.

Bodden was acquired by the Lions from Cleveland in February along with a third-round pick in exchange for defensive tackle Shaun Rogers. The 6-foot-1, 192-pound defensive back picked off a career-high six passes for the Browns last season, his fifth in the league.

The Duquesne product, an undrafted free agent out of college, has 12 career interceptions in 59 games, all with the Browns.
