Dolphins Ink OL McKinney

POSTED: 5:28 pm EDT May 19, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Miami Dolphins signed free agent offensive lineman Steve McKinney on Monday.

McKinney, a 10-year NFL veteran, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in September of last season while playing for the Houston Texans, and was placed on injured reserve.

The 32-year-old McKinney was signed as a free agent by Houston in 2002 after he played four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. He started all 16 regular season contests for the Texans from 2002-2005 and all three contests last year before suffering the injury.

For his career, McKinney has appeared in 143 games with 133 starts as a center, left guard and right guard.

Additionally, the Dolphins signed three choices from the 2008 NFL Draft: running backs Jalen Parmele and Lex Hilliard, both taken in the sixth round, and defensive end Lionel Dotson, a seventh-round selection. They also signed center Matt Spanos as an undrafted free agent.
