POSTED: 11:00 pm EDT May 17, 2008

(Sports Network) - Cleveland Browns offensive lineman Ryan Tucker underwent successful surgery on Friday to repair a non displaced fracture in his hip, the team announced on Saturday.

Tucker, who had the procedure performed by Dr. Anthony Miniaci at The Cleveland Clinic, is expected to be ready to play at the start of the regular season.

He left practice on Wednesday, the first day of organized team activities that were open to the media, and later in the day head coach Romeo Crennel announced that Tucker had a hip injury.

Since joining the team as a free agent in 2002, Tucker has appeared in 74 games and has started 70 of them. Over 11 seasons in the NFL, which included his first five years with the Rams, he has appeared in 133 games with 101 starts.
