Sam Ashaolu, a Duquesne University basketball player who was shot on campus last month, has been moved from critical care into rehabilitation.

The 23-year-old Ashaolu is recovering at Mercy Hospital after taking a bullet to the head in the Sept. 17 shootings. It's unclear whether he'll be able to play basketball again.

Ashaolu is one of five Duquesne players who were shot after a dance party at the student union. The other victims have been released from hospitals and are back in school.

Four people face charges.

William Holmes, 18, of Penn Hills, and Derek Lee, 18, of the North Side, are accused of attempted homicide for allegedly firing at the players, Pittsburgh police said.

Erica R. Sager, 18, of Wilkinsburg, is accused of aggravated assault for allegedly urging Holmes and Lee to shoot, police said.

Brittany Jones, a suspended Duquesne student from Penn Hills, is accused of helping men with guns get into the dance, according to court documents. She has waived a preliminary hearing on charges of reckless endangerment and conspiracy.
