PITTSBURGH -- Cyril Wecht's federal corruption trial is on hold Monday.

The former Allegheny County Coroner is awaiting trial on fraud charges and is accused of misusing his county staff for personal gain.

On Friday, an appeals court issued an indefinite stay, so it can rule on whether a federal judge is biased against Wecht and should be removed from the case.

The trial was set to begin on Oct. 16.
