City police are still looking for a man who shot five Duquesne University students after a dance at the private Catholic campus in uptown Pittsburgh.

A girl that was originally brought in for questioning was charged with something that happened before the shooting. Police said she is at the jail and will be arraigned Monday night.

Earlier Monday morning, university President Dr. Charles Dougherty said a second suspect may be on the loose as well.

Basketball players Sam Ashaolu, Stuard Baldonado, Kojo Mensah, Shawn James and Aaron Jackson were hit by gunfire while leaving College Bash '06 at the student union early Sunday morning, police said.

The shooter is described only as a black man, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, who was wearing a white T-shirt, police said.

Another person in the shooter's group showed a gun during the confrontation, Dougherty said, but it's unclear whether he used it.

The players had left the party and were walking toward the Vickroy Hall dormitory at about 2:15 a.m. when an argument started and gunfire broke out, police said.

James said the boyfriend of a girl who was casually talking with another player on the team got upset and started arguing with her. He said when the team was walking away, two men opened fire.

"I promise you, we were just walking away and then five seconds later ... there were shots," James told ESPN. "There were two shooters. The guys were just shooting at everything and everybody. The team got hit, because we were all together."

Other players knocked students to the ground and dove to safety, then dragged their teammates away and wrapped shirts around the wounds as tourniquets until help arrived, Coach Ron Everhart told ESPN.

Ashaolu is in critical condition at Mercy Hospital with a head wound, and Baldonado has been upgraded to fair condition at the same hospital. Mensah is at UPMC Presbyterian, which is not releasing any information, per a family request.

James and Jackson were treated and released for gunshot wounds to the foot and hand, respectively.

More than 300 students prayed for the victims during a standing-room only Mass on Sunday night at the university chapel.

"We are a tight-knit community. What affects one of us affects all of us," the Rev. Timothy Hickey said. "We are family, and we care for one another. We care for you."

In a letter to parents posted on www.duq.edu, Dougherty described the suspect as "an unaffiliated gunman" who came on campus to attend the dance and got into an argument with the players.

"There is no doubt that our students are the victims," the letter said. "They had no weapons. There is no evidence of alcohol or drug use among our athletes. They did nothing to provoke this sort of violent response."
