One of the goals of new Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl is to make Market Square marketable, an effort that was sent in motion by late Pittsburgh Mayor Bob O'Connor.

On Tuesday night, members of Ravenstahl's administration, along with the non-profit group Project For Public Spaces, listened to suggestions on how to spruce up Market Square at a special workshop downtown.

The two sides want to create a vision of a Market Square that is a true city destination.

For starters, the groups want to create a space for vendors to sell food, possibly indoors, saying it's a good way to draw people to the area.
