FBI agents and local police were hoping to execute a search warrant Thursday at a Lawrence County townhouse, WTAE-TV reports.

Officials have also impounded and performed tests on a car that had been parked at Pittsburgh International Airport since Sept. 2, WTAE reports.

Meadows Search The townhouse is located in The Meadows apartment complex in Neshannock Township, just north of New Castle. The resident is a medical doctor working as a radiologist and a surgeon at a well-known hospital, WTAE reports.

The man once lived in Pittsburgh and worked as a medical intern at Allegheny General Hospital, WTAE also reported.

Law enforcement officials in Albuquerque, N.M., told WTAE that the man has been living in that city for about one week. He is being monitored and has not been arrested, WTAE reports.

District Attorney Matthew Mangino said police were originally called to the apartment after receiving a report of a suspicious item. A township supervisor told WTAE that the man was being investigated in connection with Tuesday's terrorist attacks on the United States.

Bomb squad crews were outside the townhouse Wednesday, along with officials from the Drug Enforcement Agency, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the U.S. Postal Service.

Residents were being allowed to go in and out of The Meadows while crews prepared to search.

The FBI has released no comment on the searches.
