On behalf of Giant Eagle, Inc., the Echo Real Estate Development Company has put forth plans to build a new GetGo convenience store and fuel station near Grandview Drive in Richland Township on property that has been commercially zoned since 1984.

An owner of a nearby residence raised concerns about the plans for the new GetGo location.

Echo Real Estate opened a dialogue with the affected homeowner, and has taken part in multiple discussions on behalf of Giant Eagle in an attempt to find mutually agreeable and reasonable solutions to alleviate the homeowner's concerns.

These discussions have ranged from relocating the homeowner's driveway and adding landscaping to the property at Giant Eagle's expense, to potentially relocating the homeowner to a comparable location.

To date, the homeowner has declined all of Echo's offers, responding with requests for nearly double the fair market value for the relocation.

The new GetGo plans have been reviewed by the Richland Township Planning Commission and the Court of Common Pleas, and the company anticipates final confirmation next week by the township's Board of Supervisors.

The new GetGo location will bring high quality food and fuel to the Richland area, and importantly, will be another facility where Giant Eagle's popular fuelperks! loyalty reward program can be redeemed, potentially lowering the price of fuel for thousands of loyal customers every week.
